Our mission
On Stage America was born with a simple dream: to create a safe, positive, and fun environment where kids could showcase their passion for dance. What began as a vision has grown into one of the most respected dance competition companies in the nation.
Our mission is to inspire and empower dancers to reach their full potential in a vibrant, welcoming, and professional setting — a commitment that has defined every event we have produced for more than two decades.
Today, the tour spans more than a dozen stops each season — from New Jersey to Florida, from Pennsylvania to Iowa — culminating in Nationals at Crystal Springs Resort. Every stop is held to the same standard: a stage worthy of the dancer who takes it.

We take pride in maintaining the highest standards of fairness and professionalism. Our judging panel features respected industry experts known for their impartiality and dedication to nurturing dancers' growth through thoughtful, constructive feedback.
We know how much influence a judge can have on a dancer's journey. Our carefully selected judges bring deep experience across many styles, helping dancers refine their technique, expand their artistry, and gain confidence.
Every detail — from registration through the awards ceremony — is designed with intention and care. Dancers and families deserve an event that runs as well as it looks.
Whether a performer is stepping on stage for the first time or returning as a seasoned competitor, they will find a space that celebrates inclusivity, sportsmanship, and joy.

Founder, On Stage America
On Stage America would not exist without Terry Hazel. Her artistic vision, her love for dancers at every level, and the standard she set continue to define everything we do. We are proud to honor her legacy every time the lights come up.
Terry Hazel's distinguished career began in the studio as a teacher and choreographer. After working extensively across the United States, she took her craft international.
Terry taught the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) ballet syllabus at the Peruvian American Cultural Center, bringing a rigorous classical foundation to a new generation of dancers.
Terry taught ballet for the British International School and later opened her own studio in Cairo — extending the reach of disciplined, joyful dance education across two continents.
Terry partnered with her husband George to create On Stage America. George brought the organizational and managerial depth of a celebrated U.S. Foreign Service career. Together, they built something the dance world had not seen before.
On Stage America was selected to represent the United States at the International Cultural Arts Festival in Beijing, China — a defining moment of international recognition for the organization Terry built.
Dance Spirit magazine appointed Terry to their advisory board in recognition of her experience and standing in the dance community.
